A real built-in is scribed to the wall so there are no gaps, runs level even when the floor and ceiling aren't, and carries trim — base, crown, face frames — that ties it into the room. The proportions have to be right: shelf spacing, cabinet-to-open ratios, reveals that line up. That's the difference between furniture and architecture. We build to the room, not to a catalog size, so the finished piece looks like it was always meant to be there.

How long do built-ins take to build?

Most built-ins take one to two weeks depending on size and finish — measuring and building the boxes and face frames, installing and scribing them to the wall, then fill, caulk, sand, and paint or stain. A large multi-wall project runs longer. Stained and painted finishes need cure time between coats we won't rush. We'll give you a realistic timeline at the estimate.
